Details
In April 2018 I worked as an artist in residence at Studio Kura, Itoshima, Japan. And I was very lucky, because when I arrived cherry blossoms were still everywhere. So the first photos I selected for my prints had a lot of cherry blossoms in it.
During my residency I made a series of painted prints with these photos. The only thing was that I wasn’t sure of the quality of the prints. After returning and several trials we finally managed to remade these prints in a high quality.
The colors I picked blindfolded from Haishoku Soukan (a dictionary of color combinations) originated by Sanzo Wada. This book I’ve been working with for quite some time now and it’s been one of the reasons I wanted to go to Japan.
