After the death of my father I received his photo archive. Not only does his love for photography becomes visible when you leaf through his photographs, but also he himself – as a person. Since then I sometimes work with his photos as inspiration and research for my own  work. Particular to find out if I recognize his way of looking as my own.

In the series Ma Mere I printed a photo my father took from my mother when they just met. She looks terrible in love.

Limited edition of 9, printed on old paper.

I painted each print with 9 different colored circles, which are randomly chosen. Each print is named ‘my mother’ in 9 different languages as a tribute to our mothers, because we all have one.
